Installation of outdoor lawn lights

Oct 10, 2024

The installation of outdoor lawn lights requires the selection of high-quality fixtures, especially in damp areas, where it is important to choose fixtures with certain preventive measures. When installing, pay attention to the spacing between lawn lights. Once installed, it can ensure good installation effect and also have a safe effect, allowing the use effect to be better displayed.

Installation steps for outdoor lawn lights:
1. Pre embedded pipelines
When wiring lawn lights, a wire smaller than the distribution phase line should be used as a grounding wire to connect the metal casing of the lamp or lamp post, and the grounding wire should be connected to the system's ground. If the length of the grounding wire is more than 25 meters, a repeated grounding can be done at the end. A 4mm x 40mm galvanized flat iron with a length of 25 meters can be buried for repeated grounding, and 5 grounding electrodes can be installed. The grounding electrode is made of 5 × 50 galvanized angle steel with a length of 5 meters and is vertically driven into the ground. The grounding electrode is welded to the galvanized flat iron at a distance.

2. Foundation pouring
The basic pouring work of lawn lights is usually done by construction workers in the early stage, but it is important to note that the pre embedded pipelines need to be led out to avoid being unable to be used normally in the later stage.

3. Install lawn lights
Open the packaging of the lawn lamp and check its integrity. Refer to the product manual to assemble the lamp. The usual practice is to open the lamp housing, install the light source and supporting electrical appliances, lead the lead wire from the threading hole to the bottom of the lamp post, then connect the lamp head to the lamp post, pay attention to tightening the fastening screws, and align the lawn lamp flange with the foundation embedded screw, standing vertically.

4. Power cord wiring
The wiring work of lawn lights is best carried out by professional electricians, and safe and reliable grounding must be done to avoid potential hazards for future use. When wiring lawn lights, a wire not smaller than the distribution phase line should be used as the grounding wire to connect the metal shell of the lamp or lamp post, and the grounding wire should be connected to the system's ground. When the length of the grounding wire exceeds 25 meters, a repeated grounding should be carried out at the end. A 4mm x 40mm galvanized flat iron with a length of 25 meters can be buried for repeated grounding, and 5 grounding electrodes should be installed. The grounding electrode should be made of 5x50 galvanized angle steel with a length of 2.5 meters and vertically driven into the ground. The grounding electrode should be welded to the galvanized flat iron at a distance of less than 4 ohms. The grounding electrode of the lamp post must be firmly welded, and the joint must be tinned. When connecting the PE protection wire of the street lamp power supply to the grounding wire of the lamp post, a spring washer must be used to press it on top before tightening the nut.
