Installation of LED garden wall light requires certain steps to ensure the safety of the installation process and the normal use of the wall light.
Installation method of LED garden wall light
Preparation before installation:
Check the wall light: Before installation, you need to carefully check whether the LED garden wall light is damaged, including the lamp body, lampshade, bulb and other parts. Check whether there are cracks in the lamp body, whether the lampshade is intact, whether the bulb is loose, etc. If any damage is found, the wall light should be replaced or repaired in time to avoid affecting the subsequent installation and use.
Determine the installation location: Determine the installation location of the wall light according to the layout and lighting needs of the garden. For example, if it is to illuminate the entrance passage of the garden, the wall light should be installed on the walls on both sides of the entrance at a moderate height, generally about 1.5-1.8 meters from the ground, so that it can provide enough light without being too low and easily collided. If it is to illuminate the flower bed or landscape area in the garden, the wall light can be installed on the wall around the flower bed or on the wall behind the landscape so that the light can effectively illuminate the target area. At the same time, the coordination of the wall light with the surrounding environment should also be considered to avoid installing it in a too abrupt position.
Prepare tools and materials: Usually you need to prepare tools and materials such as electric drills, screwdrivers, screws, wire connectors, and insulating tape. The electric drill is used to drill holes in the wall, the screwdriver is used to tighten the screws, the screws are used to fix the bracket or base of the wall lamp, the wire connector is used to connect the power cord of the wall lamp and the power supply line of the garden, and the insulating tape is used to wrap the wire connector to prevent leakage.
Installation process:
Turn off the power: This is a very important safety step. Before installing or connecting any electrical equipment, you must turn off the main power switch of the garden to prevent electric shock accidents. If you are not sure which is the main power switch, you can ask a professional electrician to help confirm.
Install the bracket or base: Depending on the type of wall lamp, some wall lamps need to install the bracket first, while others install the base directly. Use an electric drill to drill holes in the determined installation location, and the size of the hole should match the size of the screw. Then insert the screw into the hole to fix the bracket or base to the wall. When tightening the screws, make sure that the bracket or base is firm and stable to avoid looseness.
Connect the wires: Connect the power cord of the wall lamp to the power supply line of the garden. If it is a newly installed power supply line, it is necessary to wire it according to the electrical installation specifications to ensure the safety of the line. When connecting the wires, first strip the insulation of the wires to a suitable length, generally about 1-2 cm. Then connect the wire ends of the wall lamp power cord to the wire ends of the power supply line through the wire connector. When connecting, make sure that the wire ends are firmly connected to avoid virtual connection. After the connection is completed, wrap the wire connector with insulating tape to prevent leakage. In the process of connecting the wires, pay attention to distinguish between the live wire, the neutral wire and the ground wire, and connect them according to the correct wiring method.
Install the wall lamp body: After the bracket or base is firmly installed and the wires are connected, install the main body of the LED garden wall lamp on the bracket or base. Some wall lamps are installed by means of slots or buckles. Just align the wall lamp with the bracket or base, and then gently push or snap it in; some wall lamps need to be fixed with screws. In this case, use a screwdriver to tighten the screws to ensure that the main body of the wall lamp is firmly installed.
Inspection and testing after installation:
Installation inspection: After installation, carefully check whether the wall lamp is firmly installed, whether the bracket or base is stable, whether the wall lamp body is installed in place, and whether the wires are properly hidden or arranged to avoid wire exposure.
Test the wall lamp: Turn on the main power switch of the garden to test whether the LED garden wall lamp can emit light normally. If the wall lamp does not light up, you need to turn off the power immediately and recheck whether the wire connection is correct, whether the bulb is damaged, etc. If the wall lamp emits light normally, you can further check whether the brightness, color temperature and other functions of the wall lamp are normal. If necessary, you can adjust it according to the instructions of the wall lamp.
